Domaine Alain Assadet
Producer: Alain Assadet
Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Loire Valley
The history of Domaine Alain Assadet dates back to Alain’s grandfather, who at the time owned 4 hectares of vineyards. Today, Alain owns 11 hectares, planted on limestone and clay, in the towns of Menetou-Salon and Paray. Sauvignon Blanc makes up 2/3 of the vineyards, the balance is Pinot Noir. Alain advocates “lutte raisonnée” or sustainable agriculture. He practices a green harvest, and does not use any herbicides.
After the harvest, the vinification starts with a skin maceration in stainless steel tanks. The white wine remains on its lees.
Characterized by an aromatic elegance and the perfect balance between roundness and freshness, this Menetou exhales intense aromas of litchi and passion fruits. At the same time rich and fine, this ripe wine is composed of floral and fruit notes which explode in the glass to express its liveliness.
Serve it with vegetables, seafood and poultry, and also with goat cheese - of course!
